The Diplomatische Akademie Wien runs on a trimester system, which is a teaching rhythm that doesn’t quite match any other I’ve ever experienced. Back in Minneapolis, UMN is on spring[sic] break this week, and the semester is roughly at its halfway point. Here, though, my “Digital Culture and Technology” seminar meets for the last time today, and then there’s a break until April, when my seminar on “The Politics of Popular Culture” will kick off. I’m not quite at the halfway point of my time in Vienna, but that’s coming up fast . . . and I’m already starting to feel sad about the moment when I will need to leave.
