OMG.
Okay. It looks like I’ll need to wait until March to actually get my hands on The Sellout. But I’ll be counting down the days till then. I’ve already gushed briefly here about Beatty’s first novel, The White Boy Shuffle, and I could do the same about his third novel, Slumberland. (I’ll confess that I was less excited by Tuff, the book sandwiched between those two … but there’s enough brilliance in Shuffle and Slumberland to make up for it.) The brief description of The Sellout available online makes it sound as if it will give those two exceptional books a run for their money.
